Henny Chen (陈恒良)
Henny Chen has more than fourteen years of experience in teaching Chinese literature at high schools in Taiwan and nine years in teaching high school students in the U.S. She holds a Master’s degree in educational technology and is currently a Chinese language teacher at Moreau Catholic High School in California. She is a renowned trainer and consultant in instructional technology for teaching Chinese as a foreign language in the US and abroad. After serving as the technology specialist for the VSCTA/VSCSA combination program at the University of Virginia in 2014-15, she will join Dr. Tseng to serve as the co-trainer and technology specialist in 2016. With a full range of expertise and strong leadership, she has developed numerous consulting projects and participated in a variety of world language educational leadership projects such as IMPACT STARTALK program in Stanford University in 2010-2011 and STARTALK in UC Berkeley in 2008-2015. She also serves as the consultant of the Chinese Language Digital Teaching Association and the project manager of Huayu Digital Center at Chinese culture center, Milpitas. Since 2009, she has designed and developed online training courses for Mandarin Chinese language teachers at different levels. More than 500 teachers from 47 countries joined the online training courses. Starting from 2011, she designed, presented, and facilitated 50 online webinars for K-16 Chinese language teachers in the world. Teachers from 35 cities of the US and other 22 countries participated in her online training, ranging from 2-100 hours per participant.
